An increase in the export of processed food products and natural ingredients from Kyrgyzstan to European markets

Import Promotion Desk (IPD) - The project is funded by the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and is aimed at providing importers from partner countries with reliable suppliers.

Partners in the Project:

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic,
German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ)

Project objectives: increasing the export of unprocessed food products and natural ingredients from Kyrgyzstan to the European market, particularly Germany.

Domestic enterprises/producers will be selected during the project implementation to participate in a European professional exhibition of food products and natural ingredients. As a result of the Project it is expected that contracts for the supply of products will be signed between Kyrgyz manufacturers and German buyers. The Project will help increase exports of processed food products and natural ingredients from Kyrgyzstan to European markets.

During a fact-finding mission to Kyrgyzstan IPD in October 2013, the following products have been identified as having good potential for exports to Germany and Europe:

  • Dried fruits, especially the (organic) Apricot
  • Fruit nucleoli
  • Processed nuts
  • Beeswax
  • Dried mushrooms
  • Dried herbs
  • Kernel oil
